OUR MISSION
Pediatric Orthotic Global Outreach (POGO) works to improve independence for children in disadvantaged and underserved regions of the world who are experiencing physical disability.
POGO provides pediatric free orthotic care, medical supplies and specialized training for local caregivers and medical teams about how to help improve function and prevent deformity as these children grow.
Children with disabilities often need extra support! When costs are prohibitive or quality orthotic care is simply not available, some kids are left with very few options. POGO is proud to help increase independence and improve the lives of children in need.

Are my child’s used braces tax deductible?
Your financial contributions ARE tax-deductible and greatly appreciated! You will receive a receipt via email for all online financial donations. Please contact your tax advisor with questions about deductibility of used orthotic bracing. We are currently unable to provide a tax receipt for used bracing.
How can I donate braces and supplies for children in need through POGO?
Thank you for your interest in donating to POGO! Unfortunately our storage space is limited at this time. We hope to expand our storage and distribution capabilities in the near future, as funding allows. If you wish to donate your child’s used orthotic bracing please send an email to [email protected] with photos and descriptions of the items you wish to donate. We will do our very best to assess usability of the items and respond within 72 hours. Please see our “How To Help” page for guidance on bracing and supplies that are needed now. Financial contributions are always appreciated!
I work for a non-profit serving children in Central America, how can we access the free pediatric orthotics training for our staff?
Wonderful! To access the free training, please have each staff member visit: https://pediatricrehablab.com/ and sign up for the free Pediatric Orthotics Foundations Course for parents/caregivers. Once they are signed up for the free course, please email us at [email protected] and include each staff member’s name and email address, as well as information about your organization. We will review the information and then upgrade each person to the full Advanced Pediatric Orthotics Course for Medical Providers at no charge.
How are the used orthotic braces customized to each child?
Each child is evaluated by one of our POGO orthotists or one of our partnered local healthcare providers. The correct type of brace is selected and then retrofitted by adding padding, trimming and heat flaring to fit that child. Straps and other worn components are repaired or replaced as needed. Ideally, each child would be provided a perfectly fitting and functional orthotic brace that is suited to their specific needs. We also hope to be able to provide each family with socks and shoes that are also needed for each patient.
Is there any cost to the family/child receiving bracing from POGO?
No,all bracing, fitting and follow up services are provided at no-cost to the families. Thanks to many generous donations and support, we are able to provide orthotic care, socks and shoes to children in need at no-cost.
How does POGO work with Pediatric Rehab Lab to provide training about helping children with mobility challenges?
POGO has partnered with Pediatric Rehab Lab to provide free online training. The “Advanced Pediatric Orthotics and Mobility Course for Medical Professionals” is available at no-charge for all staff/volunteers associated with any NGO or non-profit organization serving children in developing countries.
What types of orthotic supplies or equipment are needed?
Please see our ‘HOW TO HELP’ page for an updated list of items which are needed, and those which are not needed at this time. Unfortunately, we are NOT unable to accept walkers, gait trainers or wheelchairs at this time.
Can I set up a recurring donation?
Yes! We would love to receive your monthly support as we work to increase our outreach and assist more children.
